Guest House Mattress Buying: Getting Hotel-Grade Comfort on a Homestay Budget

Guest houses and homestays sit in an awkward spot for mattress procurement. A large hotel chain orders 200 mattresses at a time and negotiates accordingly. A guest house with 6-15 rooms doesn't have that volume — but still needs mattresses that feel hospitable to guests who are, increasingly, comparing the stay to a hotel room on the same booking platform.

You don't need hotel-chain volume to get bulk pricing

Most manufacturers set a minimum order quantity for their best bulk pricing tier, but it's usually far lower than guest house owners assume — often in the range of what a single guest house's full room count already requires. It's worth asking directly what the pricing breakpoints are (5 units, 10 units, 20 units) rather than assuming you need hotel-scale volume to get anything better than retail pricing.
